Airplane Flight Training

Airplane Flight Training

We have been training professional pilots since 1980 and have an excellent safety record. Students from 75 countries have trained at Hillsboro Aero Academy, formerly Hillsboro Aviation, and our graduates fly for companies all over the world. Whether you want to work as an airline pilot, corporate pilot or cargo pilot, we have the training and experience to assist you.

Hillsboro Aero Academy is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved flight training school. This approval allows us to conduct flight training under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 61 and Part 141. We have over 50 training airplanes, including models such as Cessna 152, Cessna 162, Cessna 172, Piper Seminole and Hawker Beechcraft King Air C90. In addition to our fleet of airplanes, we also train our students on the latest flight simulation technology. Our Frasca 142, Frasca TruFlite and Redbird FMX flight simulators take on the characteristics of the smallest single-engine airplanes to the most sophisticated twin-engine airplanes with advanced avionics.

Our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards, and our instructors are dedicated to providing the highest quality instruction available. Students receive individualized instruction in a one-on-one environment with their instructors.

We are located in the beautiful northwestern United States near Portland, Oregon and in sunny Central Oregon. Our training facilities are close to cities, the ocean and the mountains. Because of this our airplane flight training allows you to navigate all types of topography. We also experience many types of weather conditions, which is why our graduates excel as pilots after they leave our school. Learning to fly in challenging weather is a critical part of becoming a well-rounded pilot. This experience will prepare you for the rest of your career.

We have student visa programs available, including the F-1 visa which allows a student to work in the United States as a pilot upon completion of his or her training. This visa gives our students the chance for time building which is essential for taking the next step in their careers.Learn more about the F-1 Visa.

Airman’s Proficiency Center (APC) is a division of Hillsboro Aero Academy and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
